TAS Lighthouse Fund
This fund is to help us provide a safe and permanent placement for farm animals in domestic abuse situations where we can help, including transportation costs if needed
In rural Alberta, farm animals are frequently used by abusers as powerful tools of coercive control in both domestic violence and intimate partner violence. Because a victim's livelihood, emotional bond, and daily survival are often tied to these animals, perpetrators exploit them to prevent victims from leaving or reporting abuse
The Alice Sanctuary offers a permanent safe home (when we can) for farm animals, helping to alleviate this barrier and allowing those who are leaving abusive situations to focus on their next steps.
The Lighthouse Fund is a resource to help TAS with transport, provide direct veterinarian attention, emergency infrastructure, feed, hay, and bedding for situations of urgent intake.
