Izzy’s Story

Izzy was surrendered from a sheep farm after she was born with a rectal fistula (born without a rectum), and her family was unable to find the care she needed.

After she arrived at TAS, she had multiple delicate and unprecedented surgeries and then walked the long road to recovery. It took weeks of healing and dedicated support, but at last we saw she was in the clear and was going to be ok. The odds were stacked against her, with euthanasia suggested more than once, but we knew she was a fighter and we supported her day and night.

Today, Izzy has grown into a healthy, strong, and joyful sheep. She’s such a tough little one, and it is our honour to care for this incredible girl. As a sanctuary, we have tough times, but Izzy reminds us the importance of doing everything we can to fight for a second chance.
